Dotti recently took a few steps back in her progress. She was doing very well and it appeared as if she never even had surgery. You could definitely tell that she was feeling better because she began to try to jump up on the couches and off of them. We tried to avoid her doing this as much as possible, however, you can only watch a dogs every move so much.
Yesterday, Dotti began acting different. She was shaking, not like a cold shaking, and was being very reclusive. I put her outside to go potty and once she was inside, she hid under my bed. I was able to get her out and take her upstairs but she again hid under a side table. I knew then that something was wrong.
I decided to take Dotti back to the place where she had her surgery just 4 short months ago. They ran a few tests with her and determined that they believe it was her lower back that was bothering her. They tried to pull each of her legs back behind her, like one of the rehab exercises that we do, and she pulled them back underneath her indicating that it could be her lower back. They put her back on Rhymadol and on restrictive activity. While we feel as if we are way back where we were a few months ago, we know that we are doing the best to make her feel better. Hopes & good vibes we get Dotti feeling better!
